The animation and graphic arts work of this Emmy Award-winner has been seen by millions around the world. Less known is that Jon's work in the fine arts appears in collections worldwide. I love working with wood, both hardwoods and reclaimed barn wood. My newest sculpture work shows this.
" I create for myself and what I want, there is no big plan. Inspiration comes from everywhere, that's why no two pieces of mine look similar. Sometimes I introduce the female form into my abstract expressionist style, capturing the essence of sex appeal and the seductive nature of woman."
In 2013 we opened O Gallery in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico. Here are a few images from that adventure.
Jon studied art at Bowling Green University and had the great Bernie Casey as his painting teacher. From there he went to The School of Visual Arts in New York City where he studied under Milton Glazer. He completed his studies and received his BFA degree at The Atlanta College of Art. He majored in Painting and Sculpture and was fortunate to work with Santo Bruno and Scott Gilliam. His major influences are Rauschenberg, de Kooning and Frank Stella.
